A Pocketful of Sequins
Just as sequins catch the light, every page shimmers with colour and life.
This book is a compilation of "words from the heart" - quotes from Australians whose lives have been touched by breast cancer.
Their words of comfort and inspiration are offered to brighten the inevitable moments of shadow in our lives, while the exquisite watercolour illustrations celebrate their strength, courage, humour and spirit.

About the book
To be diagnosed with breast cancer is to face a frightening, life-changing experience, and many women who undergo this experience demonstrate extraordinary courage, strength, humour, generosity and compassion on their breast cancer journey.
National Breast and Ovarian Cancer Centre (NBOCC), the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) and the Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) came together to work with publisher Moonstone and author and breast cancer survivor Margaret Wright on the development of a book of quotations that would convey those remarkable qualities in an inspiring and moving collection of their quotations.
Women with breast cancer, their partners, families and friends contributed quotations, poems and musings. Illustrated by artist Julianne Lord, A Pocketful of Sequins is moving, powerful, humorous and ultimately very human.
Working on A Pocketful of Sequins with Breast Cancer Network Australia and National Breast and Ovarian Cancer Centre is a wish fulfilled for me. All three organisations make vital contributions in our different ways to improving outcomes for women with breast cancer.
Sue Murray, CEO, National Breast Cancer Foundation
Developing A Pocketful of Sequins has presented an important opportunity for Australia's three main breast cancer organisations to work together. Breast Cancer Network Australia works to support women with breast cancer, and our members have been delighted to contribute their different insights to the book.
Lyn Swinburne, CEO, Breast Cancer Network Australia
National Breast and Ovarian Cancer Centre's work in translating research into evidence-based information for women affected by breast cancer is an integral part of the vital tapestry of services, programs and support also made possible through the work of both the Breast Cancer Network Australia and National Breast Cancer Foundation. A Pocketful of Sequins is symbolic of that connection. Separately, we can do much. Together - what can we not do?
Dr Helen Zorbas, Director, National Breast and Ovarian Cancer Centre
The National Breast and Ovarian Cancer Centre is funded by the Australian Government to improve outcomes for women with breast and ovarian cancer through the translation of research into evidence-based information, education and awareness.
The National Breast Cancer Foundation is the leading Australian national not-for-profit organisation promoting and investing in quality breast cancer research.
The Breast Cancer Network Australia empowers, informs, represents and links together Australians personally affected by breast cancer.
